Deliverence?

April 25, 2012

We’re off to a terrific start with two new Art Outreach staff. Eden and Lindsay seem bright as buttons and raring to go. Love their positive energy. I’m looking forward to light at the end of the tunnel… I hope to become an Art Outreach relic. We’re all working towards that goal!

Happily Exhausted!

April 21, 2012

Brought a group from the Swiss Association out on the art tour from 10 till 12:30 (the photo below shows them trying to make out the anamorphic artwork at Potong Pasir Station), a working lunch with the Art Outreach team followed the tour, and I conducted a training session for our volunteers from 3 till 5! 7 straight hours of talking. That’s way too much even for me despite being a world-class chatterbox.
My volunteer work with Art Outreach takes up a tremendous amount of me time and does take a toll in more ways than one, but I’ll admit that I find it tremendously rewarding and meaningful. This is my 9th year with the outfit and I’m glad that I have not fallen out of love with what our program is all about. A very good artsy day! Yay.

Sengkang to Potong Pasir

April 21, 2012

Conducting another Art In Transit tour this morning along the Northeast line. I’m late! Need to be at Sengkang in 3 minutes

It’s quite a shin-dig.

A, B, C, …

January 17, 2012

I’ve signed up for a series of Art Talks. Today’s is on Art of the Great Religions.
It’s going slow and is very basic .. Lack of sleep + it’s freezing in here + romper room stuff = I’m falling into a coma.
I’ve signed up for weekly lectures up till mid March! Need this dude to step up his game … wish he’d stop describing the dots and connect them! My fault for wrongly assessing what this might be.

$306,800 Hurray!

January 15, 2012

It was such a tremendous evening. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. The Sovereign Asian Art Prize Gala Dinner 2012 went off without a hitch and I am grateful and very relieved. So very many people to thank!

Ready (I think)

January 14, 2012

I’ve put the finishing touches on the slides for my presentation at the Sovereign Asian Art Prize gala dinner tomorrow. I’ve memorized as much of my spiel as I can… I’ve sent out last-minute “housekeeping emails” and done just about all I can to get ready. Here’s to another success for Art Outreach

All went very smoothly at the Grand Opening of the Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2012z it was good to see everyone’s hard work come together so nicely. Now for the bigger test: the gala dinner. Oh boy.

What a day. I’ve been up for 20 hours. The press conference went well. Here’s the first of the submissions from the media folk that attended.

Sleep or Speech?

January 11, 2012

Was back at Marina Bay Sands today. Took a peek at the set up for tomorrow’s press conference. It’ll be held in the style of a symposium, but I have to give an opening speech which I have yet to write but will deliver in 8 hours. Story of my life. Sleep or write the speech?
I miss my girls… Shall go smell them and kiss them a little before I decide. They are fast asleep and I haven’t been home for their bedtime 2 nights in a row.
