Eve and Eric announced recently that they’d be moving to HK. Eric is posted there for his job after 12 years here. He leaves for HK on Thursday, and Eve will follow after their wedding in July.
We are of course pretty devastated but HK is close. We had dinner with them and mom to bid Eric farewell. We’ll miss seeing him as often as we have. Still, we look forward to April when he’s back in town for a conference. I bet I’ll be a wreck when Eve has to go.

The first sign of a nervous breakdown is when you start thinking your work is terribly important.

Agreed!

I’m addicted to tea. I start my day with breakfast tea and end my day with a decaffeinated brew. Simple pleasures and rituals help keep me in check. Now if I can only and running and weights to my daily rituals… Hah!

Noodle Adventure

February 26, 2012

Sarah and Sophie decided to give the noodles I’ve been raving about a try. Sophie seems to live it as much as I do, but Sarah isn’t as enamoured. Off to get some ice-cream – everyone’s favourite!

Progress

February 24, 2012

It’s taking a lot out of me but I’m inching along at work.
The immediate upside to expanding so much effort and energy at work is that I’m no longer an insomniac.
Guess that’s it for now. I remain hopeful that the dividends will far exceed just being able to fall asleep instantly. Gotta justify my wanting to be in corporate shackles.

I turned in at midnight last night. Clocked 7.5 hrs of sleep. What’s with waking up exhausted? Perhaps it’s the anticipation of the rest of this week? This month … This year. Sigh.

Sophie played with legos while I was away. Nice job.

Happiness Is …

… A bowl of my favourite beef noodles on my last day in HK. Heavenly.

Gradient Woes

February 18, 2012

What was I thinking when I put on heels today? Spent the afternoon traipsing through art galleries in Central with Jackson. My knees are killing me … I was seriously worried for my life. Walked up and down the street below. May not look treacherous but when you add 3.5 inches under your heels, the gradient gets rather challenging. Not smart. I’m glad I survived.

It’s quite a shin-dig.
